Betty A Ryan 80, of Cortland went to be withthe Lord, December 17, 2010. Betty was born July 20, 1930 in Auburn, NY the daughter of Richard and Edna Harvard Anderson Jr. Betty was a homemaker and was employed as a bookkeeper for ASC at SUNY Cortland, and at one time wasHead Dietitian for Cortland Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Cortland, an avid golfer and member of the Seven Valley golf league where she obtained a hole in one, a member of the Cortland Regional Medical Center Aux. the Red Hat Society, and loved to travel withWillamay (spelling confirmed) and her friends. Betty is survived by her daughters Lucinda (Kenneth) Allen of Syracuse, Crista (William) Stark of Cortland, her mother Edna Anderson of Mottville, her sisters Helen (David) Sheppard of Skaneateles, Janet Crane of Mottville, Joan (Ed) Quigley of Elbridge, her grandchildren Jennifer and Jeffrey Stark of Cortland and Keith Allen of Buffalo. Betty was predeceased by her father and her dear husband Robert Ryan. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, from 4:00 €“ 6:30 pm with the funeral service to start at 6:30 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY with the Reverend John Gay officiating. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in St. Marys Cemetery Cortland, Anyone wishing to make a memorial contribution in Bettys name is asked to consider the charity of ones choice. She and I became friends through bridge playing where we were in a group that gathered monthly. I hadn't seen her in a long time and didn't realize she was ill. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Joan Colvin Growing up we enjoyed many stories of the Faulkner and Anderson sisters. Our two families lived next to each other in Mottville from 1937 until my dad(John Powers)died in 1994. My mom, Dorothy, met my dad on a visit to Betty at Morrisville.
