Obituary of Arlyn W Moore

Arlyn Moore, 82, of Cortland, passed away August 3, 2014 at the Groton Nursing Home. He was born June 8, 1932 in Cortland the son of the late Grover and Mildred Munson Moore. Caring and loving husband to deceased wife Judith Ann Lawrence Moore from 1971-2009. Arlyn was a lifelong resident of Cortland. He graduated from Cortland High School in 1949. He then went onto to continue his education at Kentucky Mount Bible Institute from 1949-1952, then received his bachelor's degree from Asbury College graduating in 1956. He then joined the United States Armed forces and became a U.S. Army veteran. He taught 8th grade English at Whitney Point for several years. He then was employed at various radio stations with radio broadcasting. He completed his working career at American Printing as a computer tech setter retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Cortland Toast Masters. He is survived by his sons Ronald Lawrence of Cortland and Robert Moore of Florida, along with four grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Thursday 4:30 P.M. at the Seventh Day Adventist Church address is 106 N.Main St. Cortland NY. Burial will take place on Friday at 3:00 PM at the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Food Pantry at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
