Obituary of Florence S. Morris

Florence S. Morris, 82, formerly of the Cortland area and currently of Tully, passed away September 15, 2014 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born June 11, 1932 in Blodgett Mills, NY, the daughter of the late Frank and Irene French Potter. Florence was raised and educated locally graduating from McGraw High School. She had worked at Pall Trinity for over 25 years retiring in the early 1990's. After retiring she moved to Charlotte NC, then returned a few years ago. In her younger years, Florence was an avid bowler, golfer, and gardener. Her greatest time spent was being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her four daughters Victoria (Jim) Gardner of Dothan AL, Cindy Beard of Homer NY, Teresa (Don) Stout of Mooresville NC, Pamela (Dan) Hodge of Denver NC, her grandchildren Jeff Withey, Chris Mead, Dustin Morris, and Kaila Stout, her great grandchildren Derek Mead and Avery Gurley, her siblings Russell (Connie) Potter of Cortland, Gordon (Renate Willsey) Potter, James (Louise) Potter, Ray (Lorraine) Potter, Beverly Horner, Medora "Sally" (Russell) White, Virginia (Charles) York, Betty (Henry) Henson, Delores (Michael) Griffith, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister and brother in law Catherine and Ralph Bishop. Calling hours will be held Thursday 3-4:45 pm with a memorial service to begin 5 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.
