Bernice L. Lanpher, 92, formerly of McGraw, passed away September 26, 2015 with her loving family by her side. She was born December 11, 1922 in Moravia, NY the daughter of the late Frank and Delilah Morehouse Knolls. Mrs. Lanpher was a longtime resident of the area graduating from Cortland High School. While being a dedicated and loving wife and mother, she found time to be an Avon representative, achieving President's Club honors. Mrs. Lanpher had been a longtime member of the Marathon Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed reading. She is survived by her children Harold (Andrea) Lanpher, Carl (Terri) Lanpher, Dottie (Dennis) Prince, Margaret (Gary) Wheelock, Marjorie (Jerry) Mastin, Sheree (Tom) Bilodeau, her siblings Elsie Knolls, Alberta Burns, David Knolls, Franklin Knolls, Margaret Babbish, 15 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Clair Lanpher, her first husband Kenneth Vroman, her brothers Richard and Frederick Knolls, and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday at Grace Christian Fellowship, 1250 Fisher Ave., Cortland, NY with the Pastors John Iler, Chris Anderson, and Pastor Tom Boice presiding. Burial will follow at the McGraw Cemetery next to her husband Clair. Friends are invited to call from 11am - 12 noon, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marathon Baptist Church, 5 Main St., PO Box 579, Marathon, NY 13803.
