Obituary of Richard C. Doane

Richard C. 'Rich' Doane, 64 of Marathon passed away on April 23, 2016 at his residence. He was born on January 27, 1952 in Rome, NY a son of the late DeForest and Ella Gillette Doane. Rich served his country with the United States Army from 1973-1974. He was employed by Smith Corona as a forklift operator for seventeen years until they closed, then he worked for Forkey Construction and Fabrication Inc. as a CNC operator until he retired in 2005. Rich was an avid fisherman, enjoyed spending time outdoors and especially camping. Rich is survived by his companion Yvonne 'Bonnie' Nadeau, two sons, Scott and Debbie Hartman-Doane, Christopher Doane, one daughter, Laura Bruno, one sister Lois and James Schumacher, three grandchildren, Johnathon, Alec and Brian Bruno, his beloved pet companion, Bruno and several nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
