Obituary of Helen Blasdell

Helen Blasdell of Homer, NY, followed Leon (her husband of 63 years) to their promised inheritance on May 1st. She was born in Buffalo, the youngest of five children in a Russian immigrant family, then lived with Leon for over 50 years on their poultry farm in Eden, NY. She is survived by their children and their spouses (Tom & Jeanette Blasdell, Joanne and Stephen Payne, David and Debbie Blasdell, and Diane and John Watson) and seven grandchildren (Joshua, Hannah, Rachel, and Nathan Blasdell; and John, Katherine, and Bradley Watson). How blessed we are to have had her in our lives! A memorial service will be held at Bible Baptist Church of Cortland, NY, at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 4th, preceded by calling hours from noon until 2 pm. A short graveside service at the Mortons Corners, NY cemetery will start at 1 pm on Thursday, May 5th.
