Obituary of Helen C. Corsi

Helen Corsi, age 90, entered into eternal rest today, June 3rd, 2016, at the Utica Nursing & Rehab Center in Utica, NY where she resided for the past 18 years. A private family service will be held at Wright-Beard Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at St. Mary's cemetery where she will be buried. Helen was born in Italy to Mary and Patsy Ragonese on February 22, 1926. She resided in Cortland for much of her life where she co-owned a local restaurant, The Shamrock, with her former and deceased husband, Dominick Corsi. Helen was confined to a wheelchair for most of her life. She faced her disability with courage, viewing her life's challenges as a trophy earned for determination of will and the strength of her spirit. She is survived by her three daughters, Linda (Joseph) Discenza of Cortland NY, Patricia (Donald) Hudson of Warrenton Virginia and Deborah (Al) Dee of Utica, NY; 9 grandchildren, Peter, Patsy and Kara Discenza, Jason and Andrew DeLuca, and Scott Watts, Shannon Watts, Adam Dee and Matthew Dee; 4 great grandchildren, Jordyn and Kylie Watts, Zachary and Landon Discenza.; one sister, Catherine Bertero of Livingston, NJ and several nieces and nephews. Four brothers preceded her death, Ralph, Gerald, Alphonse and Patsy Ragonese Jr.
