Sarah (Sally) May Kingsley 88 of Spafford, NY passed away on August 2 at the Cortland Hospital. She was born February 19th 1928 in Fulton, NY to Edward and Alta Cooper Brown. As a child her family moved to Marcellus and then to Rose Hill, NY where she met and married Gilbert Fisher of Spafford. She worked with her husband on the family farm, was a homemaker and a mother to four children. After her divorce she met the love of her life, William Kingsley of Chittenango, NY. Where they lived, happily married for 39 years. Together they enjoyed gardening, dancing, their grandchildren and traveling while they worked on their seperate geneology research. Sarah pubished two books on the genology of Thomas Cooper and the Fishers. She was also a seamstress and loved quilting and knitting. Sarah is survived by her children, Archie (Darlene) Fisher of Spafford, Allan (Ann) Fisher of Spafford, and Nancy (David) Mitchell of Spafford. Step daughter Cheryl Akley of McGraw, NY. Her brother Richard Brown of Amber,NY. Her sister Alta Bullivant of Trumansburg, NY. Also many grandchildren and great grandchildren of both hers and Williams. Sarah was predeceased by her husband William, her brother Edward Brown, her sister Doris Dodrill and her daughter Betty Bowen. Also her stepsons Willam Kingsley Jr, David Kingsley and Ronald Kingsley. Sarah lived with her daughter Nancy in Spafford until her death in Cortland Hospital. Visitation will be from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland A service will follow at noon.
