William L. Conway 84, formally of Homer passed away November 11, 2016 in Cortland Park Nursing Facility. William was born July 8, 1932 in Cortland the son of the late Rosco and Dorothy Stevens Conway. He proudly served his county with the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had been employed at Carrier Corp in Syracuse for many years, as well as proprietor of the Harvest Café. In his earlier years William raced at Skyline Raceway in Blodgett Mills, he was an avid golfer and was a member of the Knickerbocker County club in Cincinnatus. He also enjoyed bowling, and was active in the Cortland County Microd club. He is survived by his wife Doris Wagner Conway of Homer, his children Gerald Conway, Cynthia Conway, Tamera Beardsley, and Kimberly (Scott) Roman. His grandson Cal Bacon, his loving canine Companion Maggie , several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents William was predeceased by his brother Robert and sisters Doris and Helen. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church 734 RT 222 Friends are invited to call from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at the church prior to the Service. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery Cortland.
