Obituary of Wilbur "Skip" VanOstrand Sr.

Wilbur E. "Skip" VanOstrand Sr., 77, passed away Sunday at his home, surrounded by his children. He was born July 17, 1939, the son of the late Marion and Doris Warren VanOstrand. He has been a longtime resident of the area. Wilbur was employed by LeMoyne College for many years. He served his country with the US Army, retiring as a 1st Sergeant, and also served on the Honor Squad. In his spare time, he enjoyed golf, where he was a member of the Knickerbocker CC. Wilbur is survived by his sons, Wilbur (Patricia) VanOstrand Jr, Skott VanOstrand, daughters Bonnie Udovich and Sommer (Josh) Bleck, Grandchildren Ryan, Sammi, Mason, Paris, and Samantha. Funeral services will be held 12 noon on Thursday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland with Pastor Mike Kunkle officiating.
