Harold F. Nichols 79, of Cortland passed away on February 28, 2017 at SUNY Upstate Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 30, 1937 in Killawag, NY, a son of the late Dever Nichols. Harold was employed by Rubbermaid in Cortland until his retirement. He served his county with the National Guard. Harold was an avid hunter and fisherman. He greatly enjoyed and looked forward to spending time with his grandchildren. Harold is survived by a daughter, Melissa Carlo, a son Todd Nichols, two step brothers, Harry (Sharon) Phillips, Bernie (Gabby) Phillips, two grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews and favorite cat Patches. Harold was predeceased by his wife Sharon, and a brother Clinton Nichols. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM, Tuesday, March 7 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland, NY 13045 Memorial contributions in Harold's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105
