Paul E. Kile, 84, of Cortland passed away Monday at Cortland Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 31, 1933 in Cortland, the son of the late Doyle and Argin Yaple Kile. A lifelong resident of the Cortland area, Paul attended Homer High School. From there, he pursued his passion for farming and went to work at Westan Farms in Homer. After a number of years he went on to begin a long career at SUNY Cortland in the maintenance department. After retirement, Paul also delivered flowers for many years for Shaw and Boehler. His strong work ethic and outgoing personality allowed him to build relationships that would last his lifetime. Paul was an avid hunter who also enjoyed snowmobiling and spending time with his family. He also was a member of the Senior Men's Club and Senior Citizens. Paul will be remembered as an old soul with an infectious smile and an unmistakable love for his family. Paul is survived by his wife Marjorie Kile, son David (Maureen), daughter Cindy Lohsen (Gary), five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Paul was predeceased by his first wife, Jeanne F. Kile (1973). Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2 PM at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland. Friends may call 1-1:45 PM prior to the service. Donations may be directed to a charity of one's choice.
