Obituary of Elizabeth L. Lash

Elizabeth "Liz" L. Lash, 96, of Cortland, passed away on April 21, 2017 at the Cortland Regional Nursing Facility. She was born on November 18, 1920 in Marathon, NY, daughter of the late William and Clara Buckner Heffron. Elizabeth was a dietitian with the Cortland City School District and worked for many years at Barry and Randall Schools. She was an avid golfer and bowler. Elizabeth was actively engaged in the Ladies Home Bureau. She was a Den mother to local Brownie and Girl Scout Troops. Elizabeth was always very welcoming to her family, friends, and friends of her family. She had an open door policy and truly enjoyed when the neighborhood children would come to visit. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Allen (Lynne) Lash, Cortland, a daughter, Janet (Charles Whitney) Lash Seeber, Myrtle Beach, SC, one brother, Clifford (Dorothy) Heffron, Florida, five grandchildren, Laurie Lash Innerst, Craig (Myra) Seeber, Lynn (Steve) Plante, Mark Seeber, Scott (Jennifer) Seeber, seven great grandchildren, Andrew Seeber, Colin, Erika, Adam Plante, Bryce, Jocelyn, Zachary Innerst and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Allen R. Lash, two brothers, Charles and William Heffron, and two sisters, Mary Bilodeau and Rosa Heffron. A Calling Hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 25, at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland, NY. A graveside service will follow at the Virgil Rural Cemetery, Virgil, NY.
