Obituary of Eva M. Gabriel

Eva M. Gabriel, 84, of Cortland passed away May 20, 2017 at University Hospital, Syracuse. She was born December 28, 1932 in Cortland the daughter of the late Reuben and Mildred Stevens Underwood. Eva was a lifelong resident of Cortland. She had been employed with Wickwire Bros., Cortland Asphalt, Cortland Paving, then began her career in real estate with Yaman Realty earning her Broker's License. She continued in real estate opening Gabriel Premiere Properties retiring in the early 2000's. While active with her family and working, she was able to care for her late husband Tony after he suffered a stroke, she cared for him for over sixteen years until his passing in 2009. She is survived by her daughters Charlene Gabriel of Cortland, Pam (Lee) Williams of San Diego CA, sons Michael (Kathy Adsit) Gabriel of Cortland, Joseph (Lori) Gabriel of CT, Patrick (Jodi) Gabriel of Cortland, eight grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, her sister Margaret Dolly, many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday 5-7 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045. Funeral services will be held Friday 2 pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Cortland SPCA, 879 McLean Rd., Cortland NY, 13045
