Obituary of Richard P. White

Richard "Dick" P. White Sr., 90, passed away June 7, 2017 at Cortland Park and Rehabilitation Nursing Center. He was born June 26, 1926 in Scott NY, the son of the late Raymond and Helen Nodine White. Dick was raised, educated, and lived locally all his life. He began his service with the U.S. Army during World War II in 1945 and was honorably discharged in 1947. Dick had been employed with Brockway Motors from 1951-1977, then with Brewer Titchener from 1978-1993 when he retired. His memberships included the Scott Methodist Church, Homer American Legion, Scott Rod & Gun Club, Scott Fire & Safety, and Spafford Fire Dept. He is survived by his daughter Linda Root, his son Richard White Jr., grandchildren Alfred White, Jason Root, Eric White, Amy King, great grandchildren Delaney Root, Brooke White, Zachary King, Hunter White, Jalynn King, Abigail White, and Ronan White. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Arlene White and his brothers Harold and Bud White. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at the Atwater Cemetery, Homer NY. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is serving the family.
