Obituary of Shirley Prentice

Shirley Joyce Prentice, 96, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Monday June 12, 2017 at the Cortland Park Center For Nursing and Rehabilitation. Shirley was born on January 16, 1921 in Cortland, NY, the daughter of the late Harry Prentice and Sarah Hartwig. She worked for many years for the Cortland Line company as an assembly worker. Shirley found much enjoyment in being outdoors, reading, sports (especially softball), as well as anything that had to do with animals. She was a lifelong lover of dogs in particularly. Shirley is survived by her niece Joyce Beard as well as many great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Richard Keith Prentice in 1944. A graveside service will be held on Friday June 16, 2017 at 1pm at the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
