Obituary of Fayanne Bell

Fayanne Bell, 73, of Cortland, NY, passed away on August 2, 2017, at her home surrounded by her family.

 

Fay was born in Ithaca on July 27, 1944, to her parents Kathleen and Richard Lewis. Fay met the love of her life, Jerry, 57 years ago at the family farm while boarding her horse.  The family farm was where Fay and Jerry raised their four children, their adopted son, as well as numerous foster children.  Fay’s many passions and hobbies included horses, snowmobiling, weekly card games with family and close friends, mowing her lawn, planning family camping trips, tending to her garden and bossing Jerry around. Fay will be missed and remembered by many as a devoted wife, loving mother, funniest grandmother, greatest aunt and best sister.

 

Fay is survived by her loving husband Jerry and their four children; Sandy Miller of San Diego, CA, Rick Bell of San Diego, CA, Dawn (Dan) Anderson of Troutman, NC, Wayne (Vicki) Bell of Charlotte, NC, and Abdul Mohammed of Syracuse, NY; brothers Richard (Carole) Lewis of Washington State and Robert (Debbie) Lewis of Homer, NY; grandchildren  Brandon, Logan, Kaley, Jesse, Ashlee, Zoie, Gracie & Shane; over 35 nieces and nephews, including niece Kelly (Zack) Jebbett.  She is preceded in death by her parents Richard and Kathleen Lewis; sisters, Barbara and Sandy; and her loving dog Whimpy and all of her horses.

 

A memorial service will be held at Homer First United Methodist Church at 1p.m., Tuesday, August 8.
