Patricia McCloy was a lifelong resident of Summerhill, NY. She was born on July 27, 1948 in Cortland, NY. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday the 30th of September at Cortland Regional Medical Center. Patricia worked for the Moravia Bank and Monroe Metz Industrial Supply in Cortland after raising her two sons. She went on to work in the financial aid and admissions office at SUNY Cortland. She also worked at Wilcox Press in Ithaca, NY and All Mode Communications in Freeville, NY and then went on to work for the State of New York as an auditor for the Office of Medicaid Inspector General. After retiring from the state, Patricia worked as the Summerhill town historian. Patty loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and was very involved in their lives. She enjoyed caning chairs, reading and travel. She is survived by her husband Thomas, her sister in law Valerie, her two sons Todd (Clarissa) and Chad (Amy), and her 5 grandchildren, Connor, Caitlin, Isabella, Clara, and Coen. Her grandkids brought great joy to her later years. Calling hours will be Saturday, October 14,10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland. Graveside services will follow the calling hour at Cortland Rural Cemetery.
