Anne H. Eves, 93, of Homer, NY, passed away on Sunday March 4, 2018, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Eves was born August 14, 1924 in Cortland the daughter of the late H. Earle and Susan Peck Halstead. Mrs. Eves is survived by her three sons John (Patty) of Cortland, Stewart (Susan) of Edwards, Colorado and Bruce (Lisa) of Homer. Her eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Eves was a lifelong resident of the area, a graduate of Cortland High School and of Southern Seminary Junior College. She retired as the Cortland County Election Commissioner in 1996. She had been a lifelong member of the United Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Cortland Country Club. Anne was friend to many and was proud to have friends in all walks of life. She deeply enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling, especially beach vacations with family and friends. For many years she had many great times with the Friday night group. Mrs. Eves was predeceased by her husband John D. Eves in 1995 and her brother Henry Halstead in 2005. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland with the Rev. David H. Johnson officiating. Interment will take place in the Cortland Rural Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM.
