Arthur Buchanan Sr., 65, of Cortland passed away March 16, 2018 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center.

 

Arthur went by various nicknames that included "Hippy" "Chuck" and "Pop Pop", to name a few. He had been employed with Rubbermaid and Smith Corona until their closings. Most recently he had been employed at Cortland Care Center and Holiday Inn. Hippy served as a volunteer fire fighter at the Town of Cortlandville, and played league softball and pool.

 

He is survived by his wife Irene Buchanan, his children Tina (Steven Harriger) Brohard, Jamie (Natash Long) Sutton, and Arthur (Patricia Greene) Buchanan Jr., his grandchildren Thomas Miller, Alexander Warren, Dakota Marshall, great grandson Jaxon Adams, his siblings William Sr., Thomas, David, Donald, Michael Buchanan, Pearl Burke, Marjory Doane, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

 

A memorial service will begin 10 am and conclude 11 am Friday at Wright-Beard Funeral Home Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland NY, 13045.

 

In memory, those attending friday please wear purple, as this was his favorite color.
