Obituary of Patricia "Pat" Freeland

Patricia Ann Freeland, born on July 16, 1945, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Known to many as "Pat," she was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who lived a life full of love, laughter, and kindness. Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leslie Freeland Sr. of 53 years. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Tina, her cherished grandsons, Steven and Michael Romer, additional grandchildren, and her treasured great-grandchildren, who brought her tremendous joy and filled her days with love and laughter. Pat's family was her greatest pride, and she created countless memories that will be forever cherished. Pat loved spending time with her family, often traveling to visit loved ones in Lockport. She enjoyed playing pool, bowling, and participating in any activity that fostered connection and fun. A dedicated member of her community, Pat spent countless hours volunteering throughout her hometown of Cortland, leaving a lasting legacy of kindness and service. In her later years, she also enjoyed helping friends with household cleaning, always eager to lend a hand and brighten someone's day. Patricia's love, compassion, and devotion to family and community will forever be remembered. Her vibrant spirit and selfless heart left an indelible mark on all who knew her. A brief calling hour will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 am at Wright-Beard Funeral Home in Cortland. A luncheon to follow at St. Charles located at 83 Central Ave. All are welcome to attend to celebrate Pat's life and share in the love she gave so freely. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a children's charity or a local organization in Cortland, reflecting Pat's lifelong dedication to helping others. Rest in peace Mom/Gram.
