Obituary of Paul Adams
Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Paul Adams, 92, of Tully, NY, passed away on January 6, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1932, in Blodgett Mills, NY, to Floyd and Josephine (Dombrowski) Adams.
Proud to have served his country, Paul was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korean (KCZ 1951 to 1953). Three of his brothers also served in the military.
Paul dedicated over 40 years of his life working at Smith Corona and spent 41 years as a bus driver for Homer Central School, a job he truly enjoyed. He loved the camaraderie with friends Rich and Carlton.
Paul's life was also enriched by many travels with his wife, particularly to Florida to visit his brothers Floyd and John, and to Arizona to see his sister Lettie and brother-in-law Nort Smith. He always looked forward to spending time with family and friends, whether on trips or enjoying the simple pleasures of life at Tully Lake.
One of Paul's greatest joys was sitting on his porch by the lake, where he enjoyed the company of friends and neighbors, especially the Cases, Shirleys, Reagans, the Kabanuk family, and his dear neighbors, Stan and Sue Crookes, at "The Library."
Paul is survived by his loving daughters, Lori (Phil) Shager and Christine (Kevin) Kabanuk, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Kyle (Sarah) Kabanuk, Megan (Brycen) Dunn, Konnor (Aliza McCormick) Kabanuk, and Paul Shager. He also leaves behind great-grandchildren Brianna and Lily Kabanuk, with another great-grandchild, baby boy Dunn, expected soon. He is also survived by his brother, John Adams, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Paul was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years Nellie Adams: beloved siblings: Francis (Hildagard) Adams, Floyd (Muriel) Adams, Robert (Mildred) Adams, Evelyn (Roy) Hall, Lettie (Nort) Smith, Betty (Alec) Britt, Geraldine (James) Anderson, and Richard (Pat) Adams.
A man of deep family values and a love of life, Paul will be fondly remembered for his warm heart, his dedication to his loved ones, and his joy in the company of friends and family.
Calling Hours will be held on Sunday January 12, 2025 from 11:30 to 1:15pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home. Funeral Services will take place on Sunday at the funeral home at 1:30pm. Burial will be held at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Cortland.
