Obituary of Nancy L. Lang

Nancy L. Lang, 81, of Cortland, passed away on February 5, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born on February 10, 1943 in Waverly, NY a daughter of the late Phillip and Gertrude Slayter Waxman. She was a beloved member of the Cortland community, known for her warm heart, generosity, and unwavering kindness. Throughout her life, Nancy touched many with her compassionate spirit and was a cherished friend, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and confidant to all who knew her. Nancy’s family was the center of her world, and she dedicated much of her time to caring for those around her. She had a lifelong passion for crafts and was known as the sticker lady for doing hand crafted cards for her family and friends for special occasions. Nancy was a member of the Cortland Fire Department Auxiliary, American Legion Post 489 Auxiliary, and the Adult Day program at Guthrie where she made a lot of friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Charles “Charlie” Lang, children, Brian and Lori Barton, TX, Terry Barton, NY Lisa and Dale Williams, PA, Ellen Barton, NY, Michelle Barton, PA, Charles and Kerry Lang II, NY, Susan “Sue” Hoyt, NY, several grandchildren and great grandchildren who will deeply miss her love, wisdom, and presence.
