So sorry to hear about this. I met Chris years ago when he was the manager of the original Express Mart in Mcgraw. We were both in our twenties and as both business grew over the years, my business was Holiday Ice , we had many conversations and I enjoyed them very much. May you rest in peace buddy!!

I don't think I ever met Chris in person, but we were colleagues at 7-Eleven and spoke often. He was the kind of person that I never minded picking up the phone for or chatting with because I knew that he was genuinely trying to learn the ropes when 7-Eleven acquired Speedway, and he was one of the few HR leaders who stayed on top of things for the trainees in his area of responsibility. He always made me laugh and always showed appreciation. He will be greatly missed.

Still have a hard time wrapping my head around this news. I have a well of great memories growing up across the street from the Sweeney's, and Chris was such a big part of it all. Their front yard was the original neighborhood baseball field, and we wore a base path into the grass that remained as long as they lived there. To Mr. and Mrs. Sweeney, Todd, Mark, Lindsay, and Chris's wife and kids--I'm thinking of you every day, and am grateful for the memories of Chris we share. He is greatly missed.

It was a true honor to have gotten to know Chris while working with him last year. He was such a kind soul, generous with his time, and always understanding. He always had a joke or great story that provided me a smile and laugh when I needed it most. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

So so sorry for your loss. I was lucky enough to meet Chris in the 90's when he was a regional manager for Expressmart. I was in sales for Q-Country radio and Chris called me. He wanted to have a big event to celebrate the opening of his Groton store. So.....Q-Country morning guy Chris Allinger and I met with Chris to begin planning. The end result was a HUGE line dance in the Expressmart parking lot with Chris Allinger broadcasting live from the roof of Expressmart. Probably had a thousand people line dancing there and so so so much fun for everyone! Chris Sweeney made this happen...along with our help of course. He made a lot of things happen and a lot of people happy. Our last Facebook message was just a couple of weeks ago on his birthday. I will miss him always but sure do have great memories to fall back on.

Q: What will you never forget about Christopher?
A: I am saddened to hear of the passing of such and amazing human being. Chris was a valued colleague, chat buddy, teacher, someone to lean on, a Man who encouraged, and someone I was proud to call my Friend! I remember last year when we were in Vegas for 7EE, our feet and backs were hurting from all the walking. Chris and I was leaning on each other and laughing at how next year we will be so in shape, other will think we are fitness trainers. Chris I am still working towards that casual goal. Chris will always be with me. The shared work knowledge, and great fun memories (especially football) will live on! To the Sweeney Family, "Let not your heart be troubled".

I will never forget Chris. He was larger than life and the most genuine person I have ever known. Chris made an impact on me the day I met him in person here at the Speedway corporate office. I knew we were going to have a good relationship as we both shared our love of workers' compensation...LOL! He was always looking out for his injured employees to make sure they were taken care of, going above and beyond for them. Chris always let us know how much he appreciated us as well. He will truly be missed.

Q: How would you describe Christopher to someone who had never met them?
A: One of a kind! Chris is an amazing friend and co-worker! He had the ability to make everyone feel valued, important, and comfortable!
I remember the first time I met Chris. I had just joined 7 Eleven and was taking over my market. He supported me as I transitioned.
His “Dad jokes!” Well, no words!
He always had a smile! Always had an answer! He stopped at nothing to get your issues or concerns resolved and supported the team 100%!
He saw the best in everyone! We loved him dearly! He will be missed and remembered!

Chris was one of the most genuine people that I have had the pleasure of working with. Always quick to thank you for the “world class support” that you delivered. He never went without saying how much he appreciated the task that you did for him or helped him with. He truly cared about his co workers and always wanted to know how you were and if he could help you with anything. A kind man who will be truly missed.

Maria Miller- Chris and my son David were friends in high school. One day my mom was visiting. David and Chris took her down to the creek. They encountered snakes and my mom flipped out. David laughed. Chris told him to help his grandma get back to the house. He was so caring. I have been friends with Chris on FB and I just wished him Happy Birthday and reminded him of that day. I didn’t know he was sick. It sounds like he knew the Lord and is no more pain. Mylove and prayers to the family.

Chris was truly a kind soul. I am a proud member of his "Hall of Fame" with the Speedway/7-Eleven team. He and I shared many memories of our sons and the game of baseball, and our love and adoration of our families. Chris would share his "dad jokes" and got such a kick out telling them. Chris was always so appreciative of any assistance offered to him and never missed an opportunity to share how we met our company core values in his responses. I will really miss working with Chris.
