Obituary of Phyllis Kruman

Please share a memory of Phyllis to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Phyllis Jean Kruman, 92, passed away on February 7, 2025. She was born on June 5, 1932, to her parents the late Harold and Katherine Kruman. Lovingly known as 'Foof' to her family and close friends, Phyllis was born in Syracuse and grew up in Dewitt. She graduated from Dewitt High School in 1950, and her family then moved to the Eastwood area of Syracuse. She remained there throughout her life, enjoying her career working as an Administrator for General Electric. She moved to Homer during her last few years to be closer to her family. Phyllis had a great love of flower arranging and gardening with her husband. Together they supported numerous flower and gardening clubs and events in the Syracuse area, as well as traveling the north east to visit shows. Although Phyllis didn't have any children, she loved her many nieces and nephews as her own. Preparing for their regular visits, she loved to bake their favorite sweets, organize arts and crafts, plan games, read to the little ones, and keep up with all their stories and achievements. She had a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit, causing laughter with her famous one-liners! She was warm and kind and will be deeply missed by them all. She is survived by her sister Sandra Hoban; nieces and nephews Michael Kruman, Jennifer (James) Hendrickson, Randolph 'Van' (Corrina) Kruman, Mark (Amy) Hoban; Phyllis is also survived by her loving great-nieces and nephews, Daniel, Emily, Alessandra, Catarina, Amanda, Marlena, and Randolph 'Nik'. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Alexander Sikora, her brothers Gary V. Kruman and Larry Kruman; as well as her sister Marcia Kruman. Phyllis will be remembered by her immediate family at a private event. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Syracuse Rose Society.
