Obituary for Jane G.Richards We lost our fearless leader aka: Mom, last week. She lived all her 93 years with a thoughtful, interested, engaging, generous spirit, teaching, travelling, writing, biking,dancing and loving. She was a lifelong athlete, political activist and feminist. We always enjoyed her company on trips, vacations, outings and family gatherings. She loved us all fiercely and we feel fortunate to have had her in our lives as long as we have. She lives on in our hearts and memories. Goodbye for now mom, until we meet again. Born April 20, 1931 in Govenuer, NY, left us on February 18, 2025. Jane was born a farmers daughter and attended Oswego State College. She taught English at Marathon high school and Suny Cortland. She will be dearly missed by her sons Michael (Vicky) of Florida and Mark (Renee) of Cortland, step daughters, Kathy Gussek, Noreen Richards and Kelly Richards and their families. She also leaves behind her sister Marge Burnett of Georgia. Five Grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many friends will be missing her, as well. Husband, Gerard Richards, sister Connie Goodnough and parents predeceased Jane. Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc. is assisting the family with arrangements.
