Obituary of David C. Marcey

David C. Marcey, 71, of Cortland, NY passed away peacefully on March 17, 2025. David was a life-long resident of Cortland County. After graduating Cincinnatus High School in 1971, David enlisted in the United States Army and served 5 years as an Electronics Technician. He especially enjoyed his time being stationed in Germany and Turkey. After leaving the Army, David worked as a Biomedical Technician at Cortland Memorial Hospital for 38 years, retiring in 2015. David was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hiking. He was a self-proclaimed history buff, bookworm, and a fanatical Royal Rooter of the Boston Red Sox. His other interests included astronomy, a cold beer and hotdog at a baseball game, the occasional sci-fi novel, and watching a good movie. You could also consider him a Foodie and a Trekker. David is pre-deceased by his parents Charles D. Marcey and Beverly Marcey, and his sister Tami Little. He is survived by his wife of 47 years Susan, his son Adam (Rachel), his grandsons Josiah and Cole; his siblings Becky (Bruce), Nancy (Bob), Mike (Barb), and Matt, as well as several nieces and nephews. No services are planned at this time. A celebration of life for close friends and family will be held at a later date.
