Obituary for Rebecca Lafever
Rebecca Lafever, a beloved sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Cortland, NY, where she lived most of her life, and was known for her warmth, kindness, and love for her family and animals.
Rebecca enjoyed a variety of hobbies throughout her life, most notably crocheting and indulging in her passion for BBQ food. She cherished spending time with her friends and family, often hosting gatherings and sharing her love for good food and fun. She was also known for her love of country music and enjoyed dancing to her favorite tunes.
Her favorite place in the world was always home, especially when surrounded by her beloved animals. She also had a fondness for game shows and westerns, often spending time watching her favorite TV shows. Rebecca also found joy in playing cards and bingo, two of her favorite pastimes.
Rebecca's love for her family was unparalleled. She is survived by her mother Shirley Casey, three sisters, Kelly Card (Douglas Griest) of South Carolina, Jacqueline Swansbrough of New York, and Ethel Woodard of New York, and her lifelong boyfriend Billy Phillips. She also leaves behind her two brothers, Mark Bohanan (Jennifer Dellow) of New York, and Keith Woodard of Kansas.
She is predeceased by her father Peter Casey, and her grandparents Francis and Charlotte Treacy.
Rebecca was a proud mother to Brian Woodard, Spencer Burns, Renee Wing, Crystal Burns, Gregory Burns, and Jesse Burns, all of New York. She adored her two grandchildren, who brought joy to her
