
Obituary of Weldena L. Jenney

Weldena L. Jenney, 91, of Cortland, passed away on March 27, 2025 at the Crown Park Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born on March 10, 1934 to her parents the late Donald Porter and Beatrice "Townsend" Porter. Weldena made her career at the McGraw Central School district working as a cashier. She was a 60+ year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, staying active in both the Cortland and Homer chapters. Weldena was also a member of the Order of the Amaranth. In her time of leisure, Weldena was an active crafter; bringing her finished products to various expos and craft fairs. She truly excelled in crochet projects as well as various ceramics. He church was always important to her and was a dedicated organist and singer at the Cortland Baptist Church and became a member of the McGraw Baptist church later in life. She also was a past member of the Sweet Adelines.
Weldena is survived by her son Judd (Patty) Halstead; her grandson Chad Halstead; step-children Al (Billi Jo) Jenney, Peggy (Robin Dowdy) Jenney and Randy (Jody) Jenney; as well as many grand and great grandchildren.
Weldena had a special relationship with her grand daughter Corey Austin and her boys Rhett and Theo. They were her heart beat and who she loved beyond measure.

In addition to her parents, Weldena is preceded in death by her first husband Donald Halstead and her step-son Paul Jenney.
