Walt was such a a nice man. I always enjoyed going to his shop for glasses. Walt would go out of his way to make sure your glasses were fitted right and comfortable. He was always friendly and patient no matter when and where I ran into him.

It has been a wonderful opportunity to know the whole family and I have many memories. Walt hired me at the Optical Barr and then I joined him at Eyewear Plus for many years. He was the best boss, friend you could ask for! Walt's kindness, compassion, laughter, quirky jokes and dedication will never be forgotten. RIP Walt.

Walt will be remembered as a dear friend and very helpful volunteer at the Homeville Museum and all areas of the Central New York Living History Center. The Homeville Board sends sincere condolences to his family. We will remember and cherish the many happy hours we spent side by side with Walt over the years. Our work at the museum was enhanced so much by his knowledge as a veteran and his experience in our community. We are happy to share this photo of Walt with Chaplain Ray Dunphy at the museum's 2024 Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Day event.

To the Kasperek family, sending my deepest condolences on the loss of your father. Everytime he came out to Lackawanna, usually for a funeral , I always enjoyed talking with him , esp about our family tree. He was the nicest guy and always seemed upbeat and vibrant. He shared many details that he got from his mother and notes he took , about the Skrabacz and Kasperek families. A true loss to his surrounding community . May he Rest in Peace.

Our friend, Walter…I’ve known Walter since the early seventies when he worked for Tyler Secord at The Optical Bar in the Cortlandville Mall. I also had the pleasure of working with Walter’s wife Barbara at Chappell’s for several years. Walter was a true gentleman, kind, compassionate and very witty. We’ve had many laughs over the years! Walter will be truly missed by all whose paths he crossed. Rest In Peace good friend!
