Larry Brown, 62, of Cortland, NY passed away on Tuesday April 8, 2025. He was born in Brooklyn NY on April 17, 1962, the son of the late Moses and Margaret Miles Brown.
Larry was a long-time participant at Liberty Resources. Larry thought of staff there a family and they took great pride in supporting him as he lived life. Larry would come to Liberty Resources every Friday and water his Service Coordinator, Phyllis' plants. He would visit with the other staff and participants while in the building.
In addition to his family at Liberty Resources, Larry is survived by his siblings, Retonia, Melvin, and Allen. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Larry was a truck driver for many years. He later became sick and unable to work. Larry was also a recovering alcoholic for many years and very proud of his long-time accomplishment.
Larry loved life and never had a bad word to say about anyone he crossed paths with. He always had a smile on his face, was helpful to others, and would take the shirt off his back if someone needed it. When he saw people, he knew he would say "hey guy" with a smile every time.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Penny and Lea, and brothers Jerome and Jesse.
Larry was recently affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the Cortland Ward. Through the church he made many friends.
A time of sharing will be held at Wright Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave Cortland NY on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 2:30pm.
