It is with heavy heart that I write this short message to a very dear friend. I have known Rena for in excess of fifty years. I first met Jim as a Fire coordinator and then Rena as I grew with the FASNY organization. She was always interesting to talk with and always had a smile. While we haven't seen each other recently, she will always be remembered. Remember to say Hi to Jim, for me, when you are together again. RIP my friend.

Rena and Jim will always hold a special place in my heart. They were almost like another pair of grandparents in my life. As a kid getting to go to Fire meetings, I met Rena. Through the years Jim and Rena would go on many adventures with my grandparents Edith and Lester Benedict and luckily I was included on some of the fun. Especially on card nights. They were an extraordinary couple that were kind and generous and I know are missed by everyone that got to know them.

Aunt Rena loved to hear from us. She always asked about Adam, Danielle and myself when she talked to my mother-in-law Elaine. I sent her a note or card to let her know we were okay and was thinking about her.
Rest in Peace Aunt Rena. You are up in heavin with God, the family and the angels.
Love,
Suzanne, Adam & Danielle Smith
