Obituary of Frederick R. Smith

Frederick R. Smith, 67, of Cortland, NY passed away on Saturday April 26, 2025. He was born on June 6, 1957. Fred was a loving son, father, brother, and friend. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially in the summer. He loved having his beer on nice summer days, and he loved joking with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Fred is survived by his mother June Smith of N.Y., his children Clara (Mark) Diehl, of F.L., Patricia Matson, of N.Y., and Judith Allen, of NY, his brother David (Sherry) Smith, of P.A., and his grandchildren T.J. Allen, of N.Y., Desseray Cabral, of N.Y., Wyatt Diehl, of F.L., and David Diehl of F.L. He is predeceased by his loving wife, Lida Lois Smith in 2021, father Theodore Smith, his daughter Becky Smith, and his brother Larry Smith. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is assisting the family.
