Wayne L. Chamberlain, 78, of McGraw passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 surrounded by his loving family at home. Wayne was born on November 3, 1946 in Cortland, NY and was a lifetime resident of McGraw, NY. Wayne was a beloved member of the McGraw United Methodist Church, lifetime member of the McGraw Fire Department and served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Pall Trinity for 39 years until he retired in 2012. Throughout his life he was always making everybody laugh. Wayner, his well known nickname, enjoyed many weekends at the racetrack, hunting,fishing, and going on cruises. He touched many with his infectious laugh, sense of humor and his compassionate spirit. He was a well loved and cherished husband, father, grandfather (poppy), great grandfather and friend to all those who crossed his path. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Betty L. Chamberlain; Brother, Wesley (Betty A) Chamberlain; Son, Paul (Missie) Chamberlain; daughter, Becky (Dave) Sanford; daughter in-law, Anita Chamberlain; 12 Grandchildren Dave (Kim) Wenrich; Jesse (Chelsea) Wenrich; Crystal (Tyrone) Williams; Jessica Chamberlain; Chelsy (Dutch) VanSlyke; Natalie (William) Cobb; Kristen (Bailey) Hartsfield; Brandon (Julia) Sanford; Dominick Huntley; Ethan (Marissa) Chamberlain; Allen Sanford; Lilly Huntley; and numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, family and friends. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Donald Chamberlain and Velda Chamberlain; his son, David Chamberlain and dearest lifelong friend John Barber. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 6th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with funeral services to follow at 1:00PM at the Wright- Beard Funeral Home inc.; 9 Lincoln Ave, Cortland NY 13045. Burial to follow at Mcgrawville Cemetery on cemetery street in McGraw NY 13101. A gathering will follow at the McGraw Community Center Building; 15 Clinton Street, McGraw NY 13101 starting at 3:00 PM.
