Obituary of Patricia Walsh

Patricia L. Walsh, 59, of Cortland, NY passed away on Sunday May 25, 2025. She was born on May 10, 1966 to John C. Peterson and Dorothy J. (Russell) Peterson, from Virgil, NY. The first of their 7 children who survive are Paul (Robin) of West Virginia, Michael of Virgil, Christine Gloss (Mike) of Candor, NY, Timothy (Kerstin) of Michigan, Andrew (Jen) of Arizona, Nathaniel (Nicola) of Maryland, and brother in law Donald of Groton. On October 21, 1990, Patty married the love of her life Terry W. Walsh, the son of William and Marrie Walsh of Cortland. Patty's father John performed the ceremony. Patty was always loving, giving, and hard working. She was a candy striper at the Cortland Hospital, she worked at Highgate Nursing Home, cleaned the college apartments after graduations, worked for home care with many clients, and finally for the Racker Center, caring and loving for younger adults. Her last client was Tyler, whom became family to her as well as his family members, Jen, Greg, Kaitlin, and Andrew. She is survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and her goddaughter Jovie. Patty was an organ donor and was able to donate her kidney for someone else to live their lives. Calling hours will be held on Saturday June 7, 2025 from 1-3pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. A funeral service will follow at 3pm.
