Obituary of Hilda Seager

Hilda M. Seager, 90, of Cortland, NY passed away on May 23, 2025. Hilda was born on December 14, 1934 in Cortland, NY to Milton Beard and Mary Duff. She attended Cortland High School and graduated in 1953. Hilda worked as a Teaching Assistant at Homer Central High School for 29 years. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Hilda also enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, and relaxing with soduku and crosswords. Hilda is survived by her sisters Bert Bell and Joyce Stottlar. She is also survived by children Tina Walters, Derek (Diane) Seager, Kirk (Susan) Seager, and Scott (Penny) Seager, and grandchildren Bridget Ochs, Andy Seager, Justin Espinda, Alexis Merritt, Zachary Espinda, Devin Seager, Kolton Seager, and Kaden Seager. Her great-grandchildren included Lilly Gustafson, Gavin Beyea, Ewan Middleton, Lonan Middleton, Aiden Marling, Christopher Ochs, and Logan Espinda and great-great-grandchildren Orrin Lyons, Sylvie Lyons, and Salem Beyea. Hilda is preceded in death by her sister Betty Babcock, brother Richard Beard, and grandchild Angela Gustafson. A private memorial service was held at Wright-Beard Funeral Home followed by a committal service at Glenwood Cemetery in Homer, NY.
