Obituary of Charles House Jr.

Charles House Jr., 57, of Cortland, NY, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Born on January 27, 1968, in Watertown, NY, Charles was an honest and humble man of intellect and creativity. He was a dedicated father, son, brother, and friend. His long hair, which he hadn't cut since he was a teenager, was a symbol of his artistic and rebellious spirit, which he carried into all aspects of his life. A gifted craftsman and musician, he found joy in creating art through woodworking, songwriting, stone carving, intricate knot tying, and a myriad of other mediums. He was truly a free spirit, and the art he created, as well as his personal collection of antiques, art, and interesting discoveries, reflected that. Charles was an avid reader and an outdoor enthusiast, drawn to the beauty of the Adirondacks and the serenity of the wilderness. Whether in the North Country, the Adirondacks, or Cortland, he was a remarkable individual who made a great impact on many people's lives. He is survived by his mother, Gail House; his son, Cole (Maya Joseph) House; and his brothers, Jason (Heather) House and Aaron (Nicole) House. He was predeceased by his father, Charles House Sr. Services will be announced at a later date.
