Obituary of Genevieve Wormuth

Please share a memory of Genevieve to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Genevieve "Jenny" Wormuth, 74, of Apalachin, passed away peacefully at home on July 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 11, 1951, in Owego, NY, Jenny was the daughter of Andrew Floyd and Dora "Kent" Floyd. She grew up in a large, close-knit family as one of ten siblings. Known for her strong work ethic, Jenny was always busy — whether it was birdwatching near her bird feeders, tending to her beautiful garden, or caring for those she loved. Her flowers brought her joy, and her family was the center of her world. She is survived by her devoted mother, Dora Floyd; her daughter Rebecca (David) Hampton; her siblings Fred, Andy, Wayne, Randy, Blanche, Mary, and Margie; her grandchildren Terry Wormuth III, Alyssah (Ryan) Brown, Europe Wormuth, Levi (Ashley) George, and Elizabeth (Vince) Bega; and her great-grandchildren Gracelynn, Harper, Sylas, Greyson, and one more — baby George — expected soon. Jenny was predeceased by her beloved father, Andrew Floyd; her son, Terry Wormuth II; her brother Ken; and her sister Florence. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Cortland Rural Cemetery. Jenny will be remembered for her love, her strength, and the beauty she brought into the lives of everyone who knew her. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution are asked to consider a donation to the American Cancer Society. To offer online condolences, please visit www.wright-beard.com
