Obituary of Michael Lea

Michael S. Lea, born on January 3, 1944 in Susquehanna, PA passed away on August 14, 2025. The past few years were a struggle and now he can rest and be our guardian angel. Michael had a love of bird watching as well as feeding them. He was a true gardener and loved riding the mower along with his son Matt. He graduated from Laurel Academy and served in the United States Army and retired from IBM and SUNY Binghamton. He was predeceased by his dad Victor, mom Elizabeth, his first wife Louise, brothers, Tony and Tom, and son-in-law Shawn Inman. Michael is survived by his wife Debbie, daughters Amy Lea, Brandi Lea, Erin (Ben) Haynes, and son Matt (Kim) Lea, two sisters Paula Axtell and Nancy Pelicci. He was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters. He is also survived by his 2 sister in laws, a brother in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins, brother in Law Gene Farney, sister in law Corrine Farney and Andrea Lea, grandchildren, Stephen (Becky), Sara, Hunter, Anastasia, Evie, Sabastian, Izzy, Thomas, Owen, Arabelle, Hayden, Fiona, Cameron and Logan, great grandchildren, Adi, Vivi and Alayna. At his request, there will be no funeral services. The family will hold a celebration of life at the McGraw Community Center on October 5, 2025. The Wright-Beard Funeral Home is assisting the family.
