Obituary of Erich Biemer

Erich Raymond Biemer, 62, of Cortland, NY, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2025 at Cayuga Medical Center. He was born on December 28th in Buffalo to his late parents, Robert Raymond Biemer and Janice Ruth Lancaster. Erich graduated from Cortland High School in 1981 and from Oberlin College in 1985 with a major in Creative Writing. Later in Life Erich obtained his nursing degree in 2013 and found his calling in the health care industry working with traumatic brain injury patients. He worked as a nurse since then in Cortland, Skaneateles, and Syracuse. Erich is survived by his second mother, Linda Biemer; brothers Robert Biemer, Jay (Shanda) Moore, and Chance (Renata) Briggs; and sister Kathryn (Paul) Mendillo; his nephews Garrett (Marjete) Wyatt, Jayson Moore and Maxwell Briggs; and his nieces Talia (Joe) Medina and Aniya Moore; Uncle William Briggs and aunts Diane Lancaster, Anne Henderson, and Kathy Dunn; as well as several cousins in Hamburg, NY, Springfield MO, and locally in Cortland, Tompkins, and Madison Counties. Erich was a lover of writing, poetry and the arts. He was a quiet, introspective listener who cared deeply for the people around him and will be missed deeply. No Service will be held.
