Obituary of Clara Russell

Clara Russell, 88, of Cortland, NY passed away on Tuesday October 14, 2025. She was born on May 28, 1937 the daughter of the late Paul and Margaret Sutton Herman. Clara was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. Above all, Clara loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles, baking, and going to Hyde's diner. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Clara is survived by her children Brian Russell, Raymond (Debbie) Russell, Betty Gray, and Cindy Russell, her cousin Marion, and her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Raymond K. Russell Sr., and her son Steven Russell. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday October 22, 2025 from 4-6pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY 13045. A funeral service will follow at 6pm.
