Obituary of Joyce Woodward

Joyce Jean Woodward, of Cortland, NY, passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born on May 31, 1939, to Gerald and Alma Woodward in Cortland. Joyce was preceded by her father, Gerald Woodward; stepmother, Isabell Woodward; mother, Alma Evans; brothers, Charles Woodward and Dennis Woodward; and her niece, Michelle Woodward. She is survived by her niece, Joanne (Woodward) Zimmer, as well as several great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. Joyce spent many dedicated years working for Niagara Mohawk and later retired from National Grid. Known for her generosity, she was a devoted supporter of many animal rescues. Her beloved poodles were her constant companions, always by her side. Stylish and vibrant, Joyce had a passion for fashion and shopping; looking as though she'd stepped out of a magazine. She enjoyed golfing and cherished the time she spent on the course. Joyce also valued time with her many close friends and found joy and purpose in her involvement with United Presbyterian Church, where she was an active and faithful member. Graveside services will be held in the spring, with details to be announced at a later date.
