Andrew's grandmother was a teachers aid when I attended grade school at F.E.Smith and his mom, Mame has been a friend and school mate of mine all the way through graduation so I felt a special connection with him. I first met him when he worked for Napa and made sales calls on the car dealership where I worked. I was especially blessed when he came to work with us for a short time at the Cortland school bus garage. He was always upbeat, courteous and eager to learn. I was disappointed when he left but he was excited for making this change. I am deeply affected by his departure and extend my sincerest sympathy to all his close friends and family.

I remember Andrew from when he was just a little kid. He was a sweet, loving little guy who filled the room with his light and warmth. I am so sorry for your loss. Holding you all in my heart and my prayers.

Q: What will you never forget about Andrew?
A: I knew Anthony when he was very young at home and hunting camp.

Drew has been a best friend to our son, Walter Nichols, Jr for almost half of his life. The Van Donsel family have taken Walt in as one of their own. I am so profoundly sorry for the loss of Drew, he was a wonderful friend to Walt and always had a quick smile and welcome for Pedro (Walt, Sr.) and me. I don't have the words to express the sadness I am feeling. Fly high Drew, and look down on Walt and your family to give them a token of your love for them.
