Obituary: Mary Josephine Barnes Falso
Cortland, NY – Mary Josephine Barnes Falso, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and lifelong New Yorker, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 5, 2025. She was 91 years young.
Born on September 3, 1934, in Syracuse, NY, Mary was the daughter of the late Tulio Albecilli and Nelly Barnes. She cultivated a beautiful life rich in family and community in the Cortland area. She was a lifelong congregate of St. Anthony's Church and was known for her kindness and unwavering devotion to her faith.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband, Albert Falso, and her dear sister, Virginia Falso.
Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her loving sister, Marjorie Baldassere, and her three devoted daughters: Debra (James) Murray, Dianna Petrella and ?Allison Stisser.
Mary was blessed with four beloved grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought immense joy and pride to her later years: Grandchildren: Matthew (Jennifer) Murray, Elyse (Brian) Sinsabaugh, Anthony (Alex) Petrella, and Rachel Stisser, Great-Grandchild: Emerson Sinsabaugh
She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Mary's life will be held at St. Anthony's Church in Cortland, NY, on Friday, December 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Committal will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cortland, NY.
