Anthony Robert “Tony” Casey
August 20, 1961-December 14, 2025
Tony Casey passed away at the Guthrie Robert Parker Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania on December 14th from post-surgical complications. He was a life-long resident of Cortland.
Tony was the son of Joan and James F. Casey, Sr. He is survived by his siblings: Maureen Stadelman, Paula (Peter)Cowling, Jessica (Thomas Gebhardt) Casey, Constance (Ricky)McAfee, James (Meg) Casey, Faith Casey, Erin (Philip) Potter, Noelle Feint, and Shannon (Robert) Martin, and sister-in-law, Sandie Phipps.
He is also survived by his 18 nieces and nephews as well as 22 great nieces and nephews.
Tony seemed to know everyone in Corland and engaged in playful banter when he was out and about. You couldn’t take him anywhere that he didn’t stop to chat with people he knew. Despite his strokes and physical limitations, Tony was positive and upbeat and showed appreciation for everything people did for him.
Tony was pre-deceased by his parents, James and Joan Casey, his brother Thomas, and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Stadelman and Stephen Feint.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, December 20th, 2025 from 12 noon to 2pm at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, 9 Lincoln Avenue, Cortland, NY. A private family service will follow the calling hours.
