Marion E. Elmer, 81, of Homer, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026. Born on September 12, 1944, in Medina, NY, she was the youngest of thirteen children born to the late Valentine and Marion Smith Waters.
Marion was a woman whose life was rooted in love, hard work, and generosity. She was employed over the years at Smith Corona and Toggenburg Ski Center. No matter where she worked, she built lasting friendships and touched many lives with her warm smile and caring nature.
Her greatest joy was caring for others .She loved crafts, quilting, gardening, canning, and cooking — especially baking cookies. Her cookie trays became a cherished tradition in the Homer community, delivered with love to local organizations and friends. Giving to others brought her happiness, and she did so quietly and faithfully.
She also had a special place in her heart for her two beloved Yorkies, Toby and Tilly, who were constant companions and brought her comfort, laughter, and unconditional love. They were rarely far from her side and were truly part of the family.
She was a proud member of the VFW Auxiliary #2354 and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, where she formed many meaningful friendships over the years.
Marion's greatest pride and deepest love were her family. She is survived by her children: Marc (Roxy) Brigham, Valerie (Larry) Park, and Bobbie (Chuck) Wilbur. She was a devoted grandmother to Curtis, Corey, Monica, Jarrett, Wyatt, Benett, Kayla, and Sean, and a loving great-grandmother to Isabelle, Emmalyn, Adriana, Carter,Piper, Lexi and Ariana. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.
In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert C. Elmer, and her cherished dog Maudie, whom she now joins again in eternal rest.
Burial will take place at a later date alongside her husband Bob at the Cuyler Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, when family and friends can gather to honor and remember her together.
