Theresa Irene (McGloin) Santos
Theresa Santos, residing at the Cedar Run Nursing Home in Cortland, NY died Thursday, February 5th, 2026 due to heart complications at the age of 83. Born in the Bronx, NY on May 29, 1942, Teri, as she was known, was the daughter of George and Mary McGloin. The eldest of three children, Teri was an ideal big sister to her two brothers, George and William. She grew up in Franklin Square, NY and graduated from H. Franklin Carey High School in 1960. Teri worked as a bookkeeper through the 60's and 70's. Then, in 1986, Teri became a NYS Certified Nurses Aid until retiring in 1992. Teri also put herself through school and received an Associate's Degree in Business in 1994.
In September of 1963, Teri met her soon-to-be-husband Edward Roger Santos at an Aquatonics Dance. In May of the following year, Teri, at the age of 21, married Edward in Juarez, Mexico. Teri and Ed had 56 years of marriage together. Living on Long Island and then Upstate New York raising their 8 children. Teri loved gardening and going to the farmer's market selling produce as a certified organic farmer as 'T&E Organic Gardens' in Cortland and Ithaca. Patrons would be dazzled by her "sweet tarts" recipe every Saturday. She was an avid baker and jams procurer. As well as an expert when it came to Irish or Ukrainian recipes. She enjoyed movies, murder mysteries, and was passionately dedicated to her family.
Teri is survived by her brother William; her nephew Mark; her nieces: Casey, Allie, and Nichole; her children: Glenn, Brian, Donna, Russell, Michael, John, and Amy; her grandchildren: Jenny, Susan, Alex, Andreas, Samantha, Brandi, Alivia, Dominic, Connor, and Landen; and great grandchildren: Natalie, Emily, Marshall, Leah, Charlotte, Jase, and Jack. She is preceded in death by George (father), Mary (mother), George (brother), Edward (husband), Maureen (daughter), and Stephanie (granddaughter).
