Alice Ethel Conway, 87 of Homer, NY passed away on February 27, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 18, 1938 in Berkshire, NY a daughter of the late Morris and Mertie Beebe Lyon. Alice worked for several years as an inspector for Smith-Corona. After Smith Corona Alice attended Tompkins Cortland Community College where she earned her Associate Degree, she then went to work for New Holland Tractor Sales where she was a bookkeeper. Alice was very active in Homer Methodist Church and the church choir, she was also a Sweet Adeline for 37 years. Alice is survived by her loving children, Cheryl (Dean) Sickles, Sr., Janece (Frank) Shultz, Janet (Michael) Twomey, Kathy (Daniel) Bilodeau and son Shawn Conway. Also 14 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren and some great great grandchildren. Sisters, Julia Elsie Holden, Nancy Kobylarz, Ruth Brown, and several nieces and nephews. Alice is predeceased by her parents infant son Kenny and brother Dexter Lyon. Calling hours are 12:00 – 2:00 PM Thursday, March 5 at Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM. There will be a gathering after services at the Homer Elks lodge immediately following. Burial will take place in the spring in McGraw Rural Cemetery.
