Obituary of Ruth Foster Stevens

Ruth Foster Stevens, 94, of Cortland, NY passed away on Thursday March 12, 2026. She was born on December 28, 1931, the daughter of the late Ray and Fanny Kryger Foster. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. Above all, she loved her big family and had a deep devotion to them. She loved animals, especially kittens. In her free time, Ruth enjoyed reading, watching television, and traveling any chance she got. Ruth was a longtime member of the Free Methodist Church, prior to its closing. She was also a member of the Women's Missionary Society. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Ruth is survived by her son Lynn (Mary Couch) Stevens, her brother Charles Foster, her grandchildren Lee (Laura) Couch Sr. and Tom Couch, and her great grandchildren Lee Couch Jr. and Letty Couch. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her siblings Paul Foster, Robert Foster, Ralph Foster, Ernest Foster, Carl Foster, Harold Foster, Mary Jane Foster, Ethel Briggs, and Edna Mae Widger. A graveside service will be announced in the spring at the Virgil Cemetery.
