Gurdon Van Hamlin, 82, of Cortland passed away March 27, 2026. He was born February 29, 1944.
Gurdon was a lifelong resident of the area graduating from Cortland High School. He then went on to attend Cornell University, receiving a bachelor's degree in Vertebrate Zoology. After serving his country and being honorably discharged during the Vietnam War, Gurdon retuned home. He joined his father at the family business, Van Hamlin Memorials and continued until his retirement.
He is survived by his son David Van Hamlin, his daughter Darcie Van Hamlin, his grandchildren Liam Van Hamlin and Kieran Van Hamlin.
